Every 68 seconds, someone in the United States is sexually assaulted. For many victims, that person is a child—and the trauma can last a lifetime. While most of these crimes go unreported, research from the University of New Hampshire’s Crimes Against Children Research Center shows that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys is sexually abused. These aren’t just numbers—they represent real lives, real pain, and a real crisis.

Fortunately, the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL) is advocating for evidence-based justice for these individuals and their families that balances meaningful accountability and consequences for those who cause sexual harm.

This involves treatment, healing, and restorative justice principles that help prevent future offending as well as help survivors of sexual harm heal and go on to lead healthy, safe, and free lives.

Sadly, individuals whose primary purpose is to garner attention rather than provide meaningful, implementable solutions to society’s sexual abuse epidemic have attempted to create a false narrative. This website has been created to clear up any false information.

If you have information about a sexual crime, NARSOL strongly encourages you to contact law enforcement immediately. Together, we can protect our communities; support survivors; and push back against efforts to ignore evidence, globally recognized best practices, and rationality.
